Increasing the percentage of female executives at the top, middle and bottom levels in the 12th government

The Vice-President for Women and Family Affairs, based on the decision of the Administrative Council of the Twelfth Government, presented the latest statistics to increase the number of female managers.

Accordingly, the number of female directors (senior, middle and senior executives) has increased from three people per year to four people per year, which represents a five percent increase.

The government insists on the need for women to take part in management and Masoumeh Ebtekar, the Vice president of Women’s and Family Affairs, referred to the president’s announcement and instruction in appointing women to managerial positions.

Ebtekar stated, “There are now 60 senior advisers and deputy ministers in the country, and provinces must gradually assign 30% of managerial positions to women, and these positions should be given to women before the end of this government’s quarter.”

“The presence of women in managerial positions is one of the issues that the government has strived for from the very beginning,” she said.

She noted,”27 percent of women have academic education, and have not yet been given management responsibilities even though Iranian women have repeatedly shown that they have nothing less than men.”

The Vice President for Women and Family Affairs had earlier announced that women in the sixth National Development Plan should be provided with 30% of managerial posts by 2020.
