 Short film ‘Bitter Sea’ by Iranian filmmaker Fateme Ahmadi will compete at the 39th Durban International Film Festival in South Africa.

Following its screenings at 15th London Short Film Festival, UK’s East End Film Festival, and the 20th Short Shorts Film Festival in Japan, Fateme Ahamdi’s ‘Bitter Sea’ will now enjoy its seventh international screening at the 39th Durban International Film Festival in South Africa.

The Durban International Film Festival is an annual film festival that takes place in Durban, South Africa. The 39th edition of the event will take place on 19-29 July, 2018.

Written and directed by Fateme Ahamdi, ‘Bitter Sea’ is a short film about “a Romanian single mother who has recently escaped from an abusive husband and fled to London to build a better future for her daughter. She’s found a job and place to live, but the landlord has a strict ‘no children allowed’ policy. Trapped in an impossible situation, she has to find a way to hide her daughter being in the flat.”

The film is produced by Emma Parsons and starring Ada Condeescu.
