Iranian Chess players stood on the third place in the Western Asia Youth and Junior Chess Championships.

According to official website of the event, more than 300 chess players attended the championship. They represented 11 West Asian countries such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, UAE, Tajikistan, Sri-Lanka and Uzbekistan.

Young chess players participated in classic chess, rapid and blitz.

Winners of the championship will be awarded the title of world grandmaster, international master and FIDE master.

In blitz, Bardia Daneshvar received a gold medal.

Rasoul Talaei also received a bronze medal in the field.

Iranian squad with six gold and one bronze medals ranked third.

Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan ranked first and second respectively.
