The National Children’s Week 2018 is being held in Iran from October 5 to 11 under the theme of “The Future To Be Made”, Fars news agency reported on Saturday.
Today’s children are tomorrow’s future; how we choose to raise our children determines the outcome of our future. In fact, community treatment along with parental involvement allows not only a child’s imagination to run freely, but builds and strengthens children’s motor, language, cognitive, and social emotional development skills, which form a child’s identity to create a bright future either for themselves or the country.

Iran annually observes the National Children’s Day on October 9 and the National Children’s Week on October 5 to 11, nationwide.
Accordingly, October 9 is dedicated to children, who will make the country’s future, recognizing and being sensitive to the ways children must be treated to form a bright future either for themselves or the country.
Over the one-week celebration, Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (an Iranian institution with a wide range of cultural and artistic activities in the field of mental and cultural development for children and young adults) has coordinated and is running various recreational and educational programs for the children.

So, in this regard, Children’s Day is recognized on various days in many places around the world, to honor children globally. It was first proclaimed by the World Conference for the Well-being of Children in 1925 and then established universally in 1954 to protect an “appropriate” day.
The World Conference for the Well-being of Children in Geneva, Switzerland, proclaimed June 1 to be International Children’s Day. After the conference, different governments around the world decided to declare a day as Children’s Day to draw attention to children’s issues, which many of them chose June 1.
Moreover, United Nations has established Universal Children’s Day in 1954, which is celebrated annually on November 20th to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children’s welfare.
November 20th is an important date as it is the date in 1959 when the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child. It is also the date in 1989 when the UN General assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
