Karaj, April 22, IRNA – Iranian women’s taekwondo team ranked first at the 29th Fajr Open which started Saturday in Alborz Province.
The 29th edition of the event in men’s category and the 10th edition in women’s category are underway; head of Alborz Taekwondo Board Mohammad Nozari earlier told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
Twenty teams from Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Armenia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Russia, Syria, Kazakhstan, Oman and India are participating in the event, he said.
Holders of gold, silver and bronze medals will be granted 10, 6, 3.6 points to increase their Olympic ranking, he added.
Teams from Azerbaijan and Afghanistan took the second and third places respectively.
Russia, Syria and Pakistan also ranked fourth to sixth.
