Iranian chess player Sarah Khadem ul-Sharie clinched draws against world champion in Gibraltar Chess Masters 2019 in south of Spain on Saturday and ranked 12nd of the Women’s Live Chess Ratings.

In round fourth of the competition, Khadem ul-Sharie earned draw against Armenian chess Grandmaster Levon Aronian with 2,767 rating, which increased her rating 25.9 in the Women’s Live Chess Ratings.

So far, the Iranian chess player has won overall score of 3.5 points in the competition.

The Gibraltar International Chess Festival 2019 takes place from January 21st to 31st at the in Gibraltar.

Traditionally, many of the world’s best women players also take part.

On Dec 30, Khadem ul-Sharie by winning the title of runner-up in the World Speed Chess Championship again made history.

On the last day of the World Speed Chess Championship in the city of St. Petersburg, Russia, Alireza Firuzja, Parham Maqsudlo, Ehsan Qaem Maqami and Sarah Khadem ul-Sharie competed with their opponents.

In the women’s section, Khadem ul-Sharie won 13 points out of 17 points, making herself the runner-up for the first time in the history of chess in Iran.

In this tournament, the Russian ‘Lagno’ won championship with 13.5 points and Tien Ji Li from China ranked third with 12.5 points.
