An Iranian music band has played several traditional songs in Slovenia as part of Iran music week and events celebrating the 40th anniversary of the country’s Islamic Revolution across the world.

Darvag band toured the Slovenian cities of Ljubliana and Maribor as part of Iranian music week that coincided with celebrations of the 40th anniversary of Iran’s Islamic Revolution outside the country.

Iran’s Ambassador to the Eastern European country, Kazem Shafei, expressed his satisfaction for “having been able to introduce the Iranian culture and art through the language of music.”

It’s the first time Iranian music week is held in Slovenia in such a scale, according to the Iranian envoy.

“We hope such events lead to an expansion of our cultural ties with Slovenia,” said Shafei, addressing the audience that attended Darvag’s last performance in the Slovenian capital on Friday.
