Tehran, Oct 7, IRNA – Iranian woman Mojdeh Tabari became member of the board of directors of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

 

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an international standard-setting body composed of representatives from various national standards organizations.

Founded on 23 February 1947, the organization promotes worldwide proprietary, industrial and commercial standards.

It is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, and as of March 2017 works in 162 countries.

It was one of the first organizations which was granted general consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council.

The technical board of directors is responsible for strategic planning, creating structures, creating technical committees and appealing executive methods and it has only 15 seats.

Iran, Germany, USA, United Kingdom, Australia, France, Japan, Switzerland, Russia, Sweden, China, Republic of Korea, Jamaica and Mexico will be members of the board of directors for three years.
