Iranian climbers snatched three medals at the 2018 IFSC Asian Youth Championships in Chongqing, China.
On Sunday, Iran’s Mahya Darabian won the women’s youth A speed gold medal after she clocked 9.340 seconds in the final race to beat Ming Wei Ni of China – who finished second with 10.350.
China’s Yi Li Song and Made Rita Desak of India took the joint-bronzes following their semifinal defeats.
In the men’s category, Pouria Karimpour had to the settle for the runner-up spot after falling off the wall in the final against China’s Jin Xin Li.
The bronze again went to climbers from China and India.
Milad Alipour took Iran’s silver tally to two as he came second in the men’s junior speed competitions – finishing the final race in 6.420 seconds, while Indonesian Katibin Kiromal took the gold with 6.050.
South Korean athletes jointly finished third.
More than 200 climbers form 15 Asian countries took part at the competitions on November 1-4.
