Iran defeated Chinese Taipei to reach the final of the women’s canoe polo competitions at the 2018 Asian Games underway in Indonesia.
On Tuesday, the Iranian squad scored six goals and conceded only three, to make the scoreline read 6-3 at the end of the match held in Palembang, varzesh3.com reported.
Iran will take on Singapore today in the final showdown.
Later in the day, Iran’s men failed to defeat Japan in the semifinals to come short of booking a berth in the final.
They face Chinese Taipei today in the third-place match.
Nippon won the match against the Iranian side 8-7 thanks to a late goal.
The 2018 Asian Games, officially known as the 18th Asian Games, is a pan-Asian multi-sport event which opened on August 18 and will continue until September 2 in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang.
The athletes compete in 465 events across 40 sports and 67 disciplines in these competitions, also known as Jakarta Palembang 2018.
