 Association of Academies and Societies of Sciences in Asia (AASSA) published the names of 50 top scientists in the continent and included three Iranian women in its list.

AASSA is a non-profit international organization with interests in science and technology. The principal objective of AASSA is to build a society in Asia and Australasia in which science and technology play a major role in the development of the region.

AASSA is a forum for scientists and technologists to discuss and provide advice on issues related to science and technology, research and development, and the application of science and technology for socio-economic development.

Tahereh Kaghazchi who is an Iranian chemical engineering educator and member of Iranian Academy of Sciences, Iranian Petroleum Society is one of the top scientists in AASSA list.

Zahra Emam-Djomeh who has a PhD in Food Engineering and Technology is also one of the top scientists. He is an educator in Department of Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Agronomy Engineering and Technology as well as College of Agriculture and Natural Resources in University of Tehran, Karaj, Iran.

AASSA list included also Dr Mahshid Firouzi who is an Iranian national residing in Australia. She is an Advance Queensland Research Fellow in the School of Chemical Engineering at the University of Queensland.
