World’s top animations will be featured in different sections of the 11th Tehran International Animation Festival (TIAF).
International Section of the festival will host animated works that have been awarded in world-known festivals including Cannes, Annecy, Hiroshima, Zagreb and also were nominated for the Best Short Animation of Academy Award 2019, IRNA wrote.
‘This Magnificent Cake!’ directed by Emma De Swaef and Marc James Roels is a joint product of Belgium, France and India, which received numerous awards from prestigious festivals such as Cannes, Annecy and Zagreb.
Portuguese animation ‘Augur’ directed by David Doutel, Vasco Sá, winning Zagreb Special Festival Award, will also participate in the festival.
‘Inanimate’ directed by Lucia Bulgheroni of England, produced by the National Film School and London Television is among participants of the event.
TIAF will be held from March 3 to 7. The festival’s goals are to create an appropriate venue for the exchange of ideas, thoughts and experiences by purposeful collection and presentation of artworks; to identify potentials by encouraging new comers to create and innovate; and to promote new attitudes by adopting innovative techniques to achieve a higher quality in animation.
TIAF consists of four sections: Competition, out of competition, special screening and panorama.
