In the specialized meeting of the First International Congress for the Women of Influence, an agreement was raised to establish the International Association of Women of Influence centered on Iran.
The First International Congress for the Women of Influence opened in Tehran on Friday with the participation of women from different countries.
300 foreign guests from China, Australia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Pakistan, Cameroon, Serbia, Armenia, Sweden, Bulgaria, South Africa, Syria, Lebanon, and Russia, including 70 female officials, have attended the event that is to continue for a day.
The conference was held at three levels: cultural figures, scientific and celebrity; ministers; and first ladies.
Vice President for Women’s Affairs Ensiyeh Khazali, Jamileh Alamolhoda, the spouse of the Iranian President, and her counterparts from Armenia, Burkina Faso, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, Serbia, Guinea, Nigeria, and Sri Lanka as well as the chair of the Central Council of women of Turkmenistan and special envoy for the president of Syria took part in the first ladies level of this conference.
In this specialized meeting, a proposal from Iran to form the International Association of Women of Influence was proposed and agreed upon, the memorandum of understanding should be signed by the participants.
In fact, the capital of the Islamic Republic is hosting an important summit about women with the presence of influential women from 90 countries, about a month after the political move of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women to remove Iran’s membership,
In this specialized meeting, the spouses of the presidents and prime ministers of foreign countries commented on the field of women and how to implement the joint memorandum.
In the meeting, women from different countries emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran has an effective role and great potential for the world community.
Defending women’s rights and expanding the opportunity for their presence in political, economic, and social fields, as well as fighting injustice against women, were other approaches mentioned by the participants.
The first ladies stated in this congress that they should unite to overcome women’s problems and prepare our proper road map.
