After defeating opponents from Bangladesh and Malaysia, Salahshouri, the only female Iranian poomsae practitioner at the competitions, was defeated by an opponent from Japan in the semi-finals but managed to win the bronze medal.
Earlier, Morteza Zende-Del was eliminated in the men’s division after he was defeated by an opponent from Chinese Taipei.
Salahshouri’s bronze is the second medal of Iranian athletes in the Hangzhou Asian Games.
Earlier, female Iranian rowers claimed a silver medal at the women’s competitions.
