Tehran, June 2, IRNA – Iranian female disabled shooter Sareh Javanmardi has been nominated for top player title by International Paralympic Committee (IPC).

According to Iran Sports Federation for the Disabled, IPC listed Javanmardi as one of the top 5 athletes in May.

IPC nominated Javanmardi due to her performance in South Korea competitions in which she could snatch a gold medal.

Shooting is the ultimate test of accuracy and control and in shooting Para sport events, athletes with physical impairments compete in both rifle and pistol events.

“Sareh Javanmardi’s late burst bumped her into a gold-medal performance. Javanmardi was trailing out of medal contention in the first stage, but a streak of scores of 10.1 and higher gave her a final score of 232.8 in the P2 (10m air pistol women’s SH1), International Paralympic Committee (IPC) earlier reported.
