Iranian rower reached lightweight women’s single sculls final round in Jakarta Asian Games on Monday.

Nazanin Malaei went forward to lightweight women’s single scull finals by attaining the second rank.

Malaei competed with representatives from Taipei, Vietnam, China and Hong Kong with the Chinese rower ranking first.

Another Iranian rower, competing in the lightweight men’s single scull, Mohsen Shadi, also ranked second among Malaysian, Kazakh, Bengalis, Indonesian and Indian representatives and advanced to repechage round.

Also, Iran national rowing team ranked 2nd in Jakarta Asian Games lightweight men’s double sculls qualifiers round and went to repechage round. The team consisted of Amirhossein Mahmoudpour and Reza Ghahremani.

The repechage round will be underway on Wednesday.

The Iranian outfit at the 2018 Asian Games comprises 280 sportsmen and 98 sportswomen who compete in 42 sports fields.

Over 11,000 athletes from 45 Asian countries have attended the competition.

The 2018 Asian Games, officially known as the 18th Asian Games and also known as Jakarta Palembang 2018, is a pan-Asian multi-sport event underway in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang.
