Team Melli lost to Germany 21-6 and then suffered its second defeat to Mongolia 21-15.
Iran will meet Uganda and Romania in Group C on Saturday.
The FIBA 3×3 U-23 World Cup is a 3×3 youth international tournament sanctioned by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) since 2018 for basketball players up to 23 years old.
The first edition was held in Xi’an, China in 2018.
The second edition got underway in Lanzhou, China from October 2 to 6.
