Setareh Maz’hari shined at the 2023 Surf City El Salvador ISA World Surfing Games, held from May 30 to June 7, 2023, to qualify for Paris 2024 Olympics, according to a Monday report by teh IRNA.

Maz’hari participated in the competition while observing the Islamic dress code.

Iranian national surfing team featuring in the games consisted of three men and one women.

Maz’hari is the deputy head of the Surfing Association of Iran and is an international referee. She is also a member of Iran’s snowboard team.

Her presence at a prestigious international tournament with Islamic covering has been praised in Muslim countries as authorities in the Maldives have asked her to take part in the 2023 Asian Surfing Championships.
