The 2020 Sundance Film Festival awarded its Grand Jury Award to “Yalda, a Night for Forgiveness” directed by Massoud Bakhshi.
“Yalda, a Night for Forgiveness” was among 12 films that had competed with each other in competition section of the festival.
Massoud Bakhshi couldn’t attend the closing ceremony of the 2020 Sundance Film Festival but sent a video message and appreciated the festival for the award.
“Yalda” with the theme of forgiveness, is a co-production of Iran, France, Germany, Switzerland and Luxembourg.
Earlier, Sadaf Asgari, the star of Iranian short film “Exam” directed by Sonia Haddad won the Short Film Special Jury Award for Acting at the Sundance Film Festival in the U.S. city of Park City.
The 2020 Sundance Film Festival took place from January 23 to February 2, 2020. The event is the largest independent film festival in the United States.
