Women have always shown their ability in sports" - Tahereh Taherian

“Women have always been successful in different areas of sport including championships, coaching, refereeing,  and management, because of their high motivation,” said the Women’s Vice President of the National Olympic Committee

Tahereh Taherian the Vice President of the National Olympic Committee, about the situation of women’s national teams one year before the Tokyo Olympics, said, ” Currently, the Olympic Games have been postponed due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus and there is still a year left until the start of the Games. Therefore, it is too early to predict or comment on the state of athletes’ preparation and achieving medals in this important event. This can be discussed about at least ۴ to ۶ months prior to the start of the games.”

She continued, “With the outbreak of the Coronavirus, although the athletes continued their activities, they have suffered a lot from this issue.  At the moment they are trying to maintain a high level of readiness through training packages and virtual classes so that there won’t be any problems.”

Taherian emphasized, “I always see sport being active in the women’s area. Our champions and athletes work very motivated and will train more encouraged to achieve more platforms than before.”

“Women have always been successful in different areas of sport including championships, coaching, refereeing, and management, because of their high motivation,” said the Women’s Vice President of the National Olympic Committee. After the revolution, women showed that they are capable in various areas of sport because of the interest that they had. Thus far, women have shown that they can be very good and strong managers, coaches, referees, and athletes. I have always been hopeful for women’s sports because of their notable efforts.
