The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Nasser Kanaani has congratulated the Iranian women’s team on winning the silver medal at the 2023 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Women’s Asia and Oceania Championship in Thailand.
“The shining of Iranian women’s team at the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Women’s Asia and Oceania Championship in Thailand and achieving the runner-up title with a strong performance in the final match against the host team once again highlighted the culture, ethics, dignity and determination of Iranian women,” Kanaani wrote on his official Twitter account.
“Such a silver is as valuable as any gold medal,” he added.
At the competitions held in Bangkok, Iranian women easily beat India, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, the United Arab Emirates, and Singapore, but narrowly lost the game against the host country.
